5 things to remember after the Digitalization module – Culturepreneurs 20/21

December 2020

The Digitalization module within Culturepreneurs 20/21 focused on the presentation of processes and tools that are based on digital transformation and the use of new technologies as means of business development and management.

The participants, guided by Alexandru Roja, Fulvia Iancu, Liviu Pop and Mihai Pop, accumulated fundamental knowledge about the characteristics and dimensions of digitalization, about the tools and technological concepts that triggered the digital transformation process and began to leave their mark on how organizations lead their activity.

What did we learn?

Digital transformation comes with a number of advantages.

As an entrepreneur, it is important to understand what it means to adopt new technological tools and integrate them into the project you are building. One of the most visible advantages of digital transformation is that it creates the context of a fast and efficient development, thus placing your business on a preferential position in the market. Moreover, the digital dimension facilitates better communication with your target audience, increases the adaptability of the project to various external circumstances and contributes significantly to the visibility of your project.

Digitizing internal processes and procedures is a first step towards digital transformation.

The efficiency of a company’s activity depends very much on the way in which the different processes and procedures within it are performed. When well-managed and organized, the respective processes and procedures help for a clear communication with the people and entities concerned, leading to an appropriate use of resources and, implicitly, to a higher business profit. Thanks to digitization and interaction using technological tools, entrepreneurs have access to a range of data that can help them understand their target audience and adapt their business strategies to their needs.

There is always room for digital innovation.

The digital environment is constantly changing. It can give a new dimension to the products and services of a business by updating them and connecting them to current technological trends and by creating a more direct and collaborative connection with potential customers. There are various innovative digital models that can serve as a source of inspiration and research when developing a project or business plan.

Digital platforms are beneficial tools in developing a business.

The services of a business and its particular characteristics deserve to be highlighted in order to efficiently reach the target audience. Digital platforms aim to mediate this interaction between the manufacturer and the customer, offering gains on both sides. Firstly, because it makes places for a user friendly environment, secondly, because a good customer experience leads to business profit.

Some relevant digital platforms today are: Facebook, Instagram, Uber or AirBnB, and that’s because they managed to create a dynamic and consistent interaction with their target audience, using engaging, user friendly instruments and minimal resources.

Respect for the personal data of all individuals who come into contact with a particular entity, and transparency when processing such data are aspects that cannot be missing from the legal concerns of a business. Not only because the adoption of the GDPR policy has become mandatory by law, but also because a good management of personal data is the first step towards a relationship based on trust between an entity and its target audience.
